Jeffrey Dahmer, also known as the Milwaukee Cannibal or the Milwaukee Monster, was an American serial killer and sex offender who committed the murder and dismemberment of 17 young men between 1978 and 1991. His gruesome crimes, which involved rape, necrophilia, dismemberment, and cannibalism, shocked the nation and brought unprecedented attention to the nature of serial killing and criminal psychology.

Dahmer's first murder occurred in 1978, just after his high school graduation. However, the majority of his crimes were committed between 1987 and 1991 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His victims, primarily African-American and Asian men and boys, were lured to his apartment under various pretenses, where they were then drugged, sexually assaulted, and killed. Dahmer's method of operation often involved keeping body parts as souvenirs and photographing his victims at various stages of the murder process.

The discovery of Dahmer's crimes in July 1991 came after one of his intended victims managed to escape and alert police. Law enforcement officers, upon entering Dahmer's apartment, found an environment of horror: photographs of dismembered bodies, skulls, and remains of several victims.

Dahmer was arrested and confessed to 16 murders in Wisconsin and one in Ohio, spanning over a decade. His trial began in January 1992, where he was found sane and subsequently convicted of 15 of the 16 murders he confessed to in Wisconsin and was sentenced to 15 terms of life imprisonment.

According to the New York Post, the top photo is real. Apparently, the photo came from a serial killer exhibit.

There's no way the first one is him, in my opinion. Looks nothing like him, plus his face was beaten "beyond recognition", whereas that face has only a black eye. This beating killed him, they caved his skull in with a barbell.

The second one could be him, but it could also be anyone. There's not a single distinguishing feature to say that's him.

There is one person, the same person associated with both these photos in EVERY source where they appear. I'm trying to find out the story behind these, because this one person is the ONLY source. That NY Post article is the only media source for this photo, and it's a tabloid, known for sensationalism since Murdoch purchased it. I certainly wouldn't be taking anything they post as gospel.

Also, I can't find a reliable article or source anywhere about this "Rare Serial Killer Exhibit". Certainly nothing that claims to have pictures of Jeff Dahmer.

Take a closer look.... In one photo, you can see tubes with blood etc all around his face. In the close up side profile pic, there are no tubes. Also the face looks much more messed up on this one than on the side view. The hands are bagged, so possibly this could be Dahmer... They would have bagged the hands for forensics.

He was hit twice in the BACK of his head with the metal bar off of a piece of exercise equipment. It is very possible that his face didn't get it as bad. I don't know though. The New York Post is who interviewed Christopher Scarver about why he killed Dahmer. I don't know why they would try to include fake photos in that.
