I agree - very impressive. I have not ever seen any photos of any part other than the outside of the car and covered with a tarp.

The seatbelt did break and his jaw hit the wheel, sending his jawbone into the back of his neck where it crushed the spine.

Notice the red tissue stained section of the steering wheel in the 3 o' clock section. (This would be the top center of the the steering wheel if centered correctly). Basically his face went into the steering wheel. (He and his then rookie son were two of the only drivers that would were the old school open face helmet.....) Also his signature style "bubble"goggles at the bottom of the picture on the floor. There are other photos of the car out there showing tissue and blood stains, but cant find them now. Add any info you have.

I have searched for pictures of his death, car, etc. Couldn't find a damn thing! Congrats on diggin this one up. Nice post!

I'm thinking it's blood spray from his nose and mouth from the basel skull fracture he got from the wreck. I could be wrong. a lot of rumors said that his seat belts failed in the crash. We will never know for sure.
