Hillside Strangler Crime Scene Pictures
In a series of crimes that terrorized Los Angeles in the late 1970s, the Hillside Strangler murders stand out for their brutality and the ensuing fear they instilled in the community. The killers, Kenneth Bianchi and his cousin Angelo Buono Jr., were ultimately convicted for the murders of ten young women, ranging in age from twelve to twenty-eight. The crimes, committed between October 1977 and February 1978, were characterized by rape, torture, and strangulation. Bianchi and Buono posed as police officers to lure their victims, creating a false sense of safety before committing their heinous acts. The victims were then found strangled to death, with their bodies left in the hills around Los Angeles, leading the media to dub the killers as "The Hillside Strangler." This method of operation and the choice of dumping sites contributed to the growing fear and uncertainty in the community during the time of the murders. |
