Henry Lee Lucas Victim Orange Socks - Crime Scene Photos
One of the most haunting and unresolved cases associated with Henry Lee Lucas, a notorious American serial killer, is that of the unidentified woman known as "the girl in the orange socks." Her body was discovered on Halloween in 1979, off Interstate 35 in Georgetown, Texas. Despite extensive investigations, the identity of the woman and the circumstances of her death have remained a mystery for decades. The woman was found nude except for a pair of orange socks, leading to her moniker. She had been sexually assaulted and strangled. Despite efforts by law enforcement to identify her, including the release of forensic reconstructions and the examination of missing person reports, her identity has never been confirmed. Henry Lee Lucas confessed to the murder of the girl in the orange socks along with hundreds of other killings. However, Lucas was known to have confessed to crimes he did not commit, leading to doubts about the veracity of his claims. His confessions were often inconsistent, and many were later discredited due to lack of evidence or Lucas being elsewhere at the time of the murders. Lucas was convicted in 1984 for the murder of the unidentified woman and sentenced to death. This sentence was later commuted to life in prison by then-Texas Governor George W. Bush, due to the unreliability of Lucas's confession in this case. Lucas died in prison in 2001. |

Re: Henry Lee Lucas Victim Orange Socks - Crime Scene Photos
This case has interested me since I was a wee boot. I've seen a lot of people tie her to some missing persons reports that were filed that could fit, but I think it's sadly safe to say that this one's not getting solved. Lucas admitted to the murder, was found guilty, and was sentenced to death, but he later recanted and said he just wanted to die and saw it as a way to receive a sort of assisted suicide, so she stays in limbo unless someone comes forward and identifies her either as a missing family member or victim all these years later. Chances are slim.

Are you kidding me? you need to get the facts straight before blurting out with what ever comes to mind... He was convicted of 11 murders and confessed to killing upwards of 100 people... |

Look here fuckwit , I have my facts straight , he killed his mother only, you got that ? While Lucas became known in the press as America's most prolific serial killer, he later recanted his confessions, and flatly stated "I am not a serial killer" in a letter to researcher Brad Shellady.[5] Lucas confessed to involvement in about 600 murders, but a more widely circulated total of 350 is based on confessions deemed "believable" by a Texas-based Lucas Task Force, a group which was later criticized by then-Attorney General of Texas, Jim Mattox, and others for sloppy police work and taking part in an extended "hoax".[6] Taken from Kelly's http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Lee_Lucas |
