Insane that their secret service didn't immediately tackle Abe on the first pop, or the second. Had this happened here in the U.S. Biden would still be alive but at the cost of having broken ribs  |

No, I think what he means (and what I realized too) is that the first shot is totally ineffective. Abe, unfortunately, stood there for a full second or two, then turned around and looked in the direction of the shot. That's when the second shot came that actually hits him. In the alternative angle (page 4 & 5) you can see him being struck by the second shot and going down - not even knocked down, but stepping and sitting down. If his security was on the ball, or if he'd reacted faster/better... it would be such a different story right now. |
