Death Pictures of General Pancho Villa
The famed Mexican revolutionary leader, Pancho Villa, was assassinated on July 20, 1923, in the city of Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico. Villa, born José Doroteo Arango Arámbula on June 5, 1878, was a major figure in the Mexican Revolution and known for his charismatic leadership and military prowess. Villa's assassination occurred when he was ambushed by gunmen while driving in a car. He was shot multiple times and died instantly. The assassination was a violent end to the life of a man who had played a pivotal role in shaping Mexico's modern history. The motives and the identities of the individuals behind Villa's murder have been the subject of speculation and controversy, with various theories suggesting political motives linked to the complex and turbulent period following the Mexican Revolution. At the time of his death, Pancho Villa had retired from active military life and had reached an agreement with the Mexican government, which allowed him to live in peace in exchange for his retirement from politics and the military. However, his influence and popularity remained significant, and he was seen by many as a potential threat to the political stability of the country. |

Re: Death Pictures of General Pancho Villa
Went to the city of Parral to get some payroll for his ranch hands (He was a hacendado himself by this time!). He went to town without his guards. Leaving town, they stopped the Dodge at a light, when a peanut vendor ran into the street and shouted, "Viva Villa." This was a pre-arranged signal for Obregon's armed troops to open fire on the car with their carbines. Villa was struck in the head and chest with dum dum slugs, and, the story goes, killed instantly. It is not true(as far as I can tell) that his last words were," Don't let it end like this. tell them I said something." Just bullshit mythologizing, natch. However, he was found with his hand reaching for his pistol. Rumour has it that he was considering entering politics after the revolution, and this decided his warm enemies to assassinate him. I still think Villa was cool. |

Re: Death Pictures of General Pancho Villa
Thanks for your story, but according to my grandma who was a young girl back then...He was feared my many because he and his gang lived of the people by taking what little they had, my grandma said they always had to hide when they came around because they would rape the wife's or their young daughters they didn't care...So I just can't see him or his gang members as COOL...
