The Circeo Massacre Crime Scene Pictures
Since I got plenty of spare time (I'm pregnant and almost at the end) I've found another old story, coming from Italy. Back in the 70's (Bad times for my Country, thank god I wasn't born yet) this story is set in Circeo, a vacation place very close to Rome. Two young girls (17 and 19) were invited at a party in a Villa, by some upper class -"pariolini"-guys, most of whom were already been in jail, for robbery and rape (at that time rape in italy was considered a "light" crime). The girls' nightmare began right after they arrived at the villa, and ended 24 hours later. One of them was found dead, the other one seriously injured, she survived pretending to be dead in the trunk of Ghira's (one of the killer's) car. The girls were repeatedly raped, beaten, forced to have oral sex with all of the guys (both girls were virgins) and drugged. One of them died, drowned in a bath tub, by their torturer. The other one barely survived, just because they thought she was dead. Four guys were found guilty, one immediately fled to Spain, the others were convicted in jail. One of them, Angelo Izzo, after being released on parole in 2004 killed again, a mother and her 14 year old daughter. Below the pictures, showing Maria Rosaria corpse and Donatella in the trunk of Ghira's Fiat 127. Last picture is of murderers. |

Re: The Circeo Massacre Crime Scene Pictures
Great set and great description of the events, Anna! How they could release a bastard like Angelo izzo is beyond me, people like him make me wish that death penalty was in use in Italy, that man does NOT deserve to live. Or he deserves to live, but suffering the pains of hell, ffs! Congratulazioni e in bocca al lupo per la tua dolce attesa |

Grazie mille!! I'm almost done, I hope!! People like Izzo are far beyond humanity, IMO, I mean he's pure evil. He raped two teenagers (before the Circeo facts) he did what he did that night and then he was released!?!!? That is crazy! But, justice in italy IS crazy... |

Re: The Circeo Massacre Crime Scene Pictures
It was... Izzo was sentenced 2 years, for the rape of two teenagers, back in '71. You know, at that time (or just some years before) even if You killed your wife You may go free as bird. They called it "Omicidio d'onore" (Honour killing). If Your wife was cheating on You, You may kill her without consequences. Crazy, Uhn?

Re: The Circeo Massacre Crime Scene Pictures
Of course it is: the (infamous) article of the Criminal Code Rocco in question is the 587 (In force since 1930 and abrogated with the law n.442 of 08/05/1981) However, the crime was tolerated (especially in some southern regions) even way after the article was abrogated. In some cases you couldn't tell the differences between the Sicilian mentality and the Muslim one, and even today, in general, women aren't yet as much respected as they are in many other countries of the World. Only lately, after reports indicating that only between 2006 and 2009 the number of women killed at the hands of men amounted to 439, italian politicians are apparently handling the matter of femicide, but it's just propaganda, i guess there's not a real will to do something, but let's say that something is changing. Slooooooooooooooooooooooowly, but it's changing. |
