Didn't see this in any of the kemper threads. I came across it on accident so thought I'd share.

In April 1973, Kemper, after a spree of killing young women, turned his violent tendencies towards his mother. The details are grisly. After an argument, Kemper attacked Clarnell while she was in bed, leading to her death. But it didn't stop there. In a gruesome turn of events, he decapitated her and used her head for dart practice, among other horrifying acts. This act was a twisted culmination of his deep-seated animosity towards his mother, which he often cited as a driving factor in his criminal behavior.

Kemper's actions after the murder were just as shocking. He invited his mother's best friend over and then murdered her as well. Realizing the gravity of his actions, he turned himself in shortly after. This event was a grim chapter in the story of a man who would later be known as the "Co-ed Killer," and it highlighted the extreme and disturbing nature of his crimes. Kemper's murder of his mother was a key factor in his eventual capture and conviction, bringing an end to his reign of terror.
