Crime Scene Pictures From The McDonald's Massacre in 1984
The McDonald's Massacre, a devastating and shocking mass shooting, occurred on July 18, 1984, in San Ysidro, California, a neighborhood of San Diego. The perpetrator, James Huberty, opened fire in a McDonald's restaurant, resulting in one of the deadliest mass shootings in the United States at the time. Huberty, armed with a long-barreled Uzi, a pump-action shotgun, and a handgun, entered the McDonald's and began shooting indiscriminately at employees and customers. The victims ranged in age from 8 months to 74 years, reflecting the random brutality of the attack. By the end of the rampage, 21 people were killed and 19 others were injured, making it one of the most horrific mass shootings in American history up to that point. The massacre lasted for 77 minutes, ending when a SWAT team sniper fatally shot Huberty. The response of law enforcement to the shooting, including the time it took for the SWAT team to arrive and engage the shooter, was later scrutinized and led to changes in police tactics and emergency response protocols for active shooter situations. James Huberty had a history of mental health issues, and the motive for his attack was never fully clarified, though he had expressed despair and anger about his personal circumstances. In the days before the massacre, Huberty had reportedly made a comment to his wife about "hunting humans," indicating a premeditated intent to cause harm. |

Good riddance to that excuse of a man. Respect to the sniper. Good shot.

The only thing that would have spiced this twisted act up would have been if the shooter showed up in costume. Ronald McDonald or Grimace? Like Aurora...Very sad. |

A witness who spotted him as he left his apartment and proceeded down San Ysidro Boulevard with two firearms phoned the police, but the dispatcher gave the responding officers the wrong address. That person has to feel somewhat responsible even if it was an honest mistake. Damn. |

Nice post. I totally remember seeing this on the news. If memory serves, Mcdonalds ended up leveling the restaurant and built a new one nearby.
