The polaroid photographs are so interesting. It's crazy to think that if the body was found in that exact position, how open it was for everybody to see?

This story still intrigues me - kinda wish I researched it a little more while I was actually living in Los Angeles. SO many interesting crimes have happened there!

Ok... I'm no longer a lurker... 1st post here... because I've always been intrigued by the Black Dhalia murder mystery and I've always beleived the killer to be Steve Hodel's father, Dr. George Hodel. After reading many comments, I see that some people seem to feel the same or are intrigued enough to do their own research. So for my first post I thought the best I could do was make my own contribution of information.. after all, it was The Black Dahlia crime scene photos that brought me here in the first place. The CBS show 48 Hours "Black Dahlia Confidential" presents a good case for Dr. George Hodel being the murderer of Elizabeth Short... I hope you guys agree... and enjoy the show. Thanks for posting that link, I was yet to see a show like 48 Hours cover the Black Dahlia Murder and I tend to watch those quite a lot (Dateline Real Life Mysteries, etc). Also completely agree for multiple reasons why the good doctor committed the crime and during a time where the LAPD was nothing but a pool of corruption you can easily see how they could be paid off. People interested in this case should try to read the short story "Black Dahlia and White Rose" by Joyce Carol Oates, which is a pretty interesting hypothesis of the circumstances of the murder, besides being a great story in itself.
