In a incident captured on CCTV, Bob Lee, the 43-year-old innovator behind Cash App and a father of two, was seen in his final moments after a brutal stabbing in San Francisco's Rincon Hill neighborhood. The event occurred early Tuesday during his stroll in this affluent area while on a business visit.

The security footage shows Lee struggling for his life. He attempted to stop passing vehicles for aid, only to be disregarded as they continued on.

The video shows a blood-soaked Lee faltering along Main Street after the attack around 2:30 am.

Near the intersection with Harrison Street, close to the Embarcadero waterfront, Lee is seen confronting a car, seemingly pleading for help on the hood, but the car, a red sedan, distressingly leaves the scene.

Lee, visibly weakening, then heads towards the upscale Portside apartment complex at 403 Main Street. Before he could use the intercom, he collapses. Though he briefly manages to rise and use his phone, his efforts to flag down a second car are futile.

Lee, increasingly pale, eventually walks off at 2:36 am, clasping his chest and leaving a trail of blood. Per the San Francisco Standard, he managed to call 911, exclaiming, 'Help. Someone stabbed me.' The police response at about 2:35 am aligns with the timestamps in the footage, shot from two angles.

The first camera, positioned inside the Portside building, shows an unattended reception as Lee enters the frame. A second external camera confirms the empty lobby.

Despite rapid police response and first aid efforts, it was too late for Lee, who previously held a key role at Square and was currently with MobileCoin. He succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.

Near the scene, a 4-inch blade kitchen knife was found, but no arrests have been made.

I've been hearing a lot of talk on the TV about how dangerous San Francisco is getting for violent crime. I wonder, is it really getting that bad or are they only talking about it because this well known dude was stabbed?

cowardless attack but i wouldn't be out in the street at that time, all alone, in SF with the reputation the city gained lately.

All of the major West Coast cities are suffering the same problems of soft on crime prosecution, rampant drug use and homelessness and the resulting increase of street crime and violence.

Most of the time when tragedy strikes, individual people can look back and see that they had some part in it, however indirect. Another case of social irony.
