No doubt Mom is guilty. I can't blame the grandparents, they did call the police when she came up with her crazy story.

I pray she can no longer have another child.

For the life of me, I cant understand why anyone would ever harm a child. Why not just take it to her parents house and tell them she cannot take care of her and leave her there.

Because her mother berated her about keeping the baby and raising the child(that she didn't want) herself.

Her mom tried to force her into being a good mother, but that backfired.

You cannot force someone to be maternal. They will lash out and harm the child mentally and/or physically.

Some people feel like their parents have some power over them and they will not go against their rulings - either due to guilt, or the threat of having their money/housing free ride cut off. There's even the threat of being disowned.

So they keep the kid and live unhappy lives, until things like this case happen.

They all gross me out.

I'm pretty sure that this was thrown out there by someone at the time as a possible scenario. I thought so myself. I just don't get the duct tape. But the stickers and heart seem like something a mother, who "might" feel a bit of guilt, might do.

From what I understand the reason the jury acquitted her was because the state wanted all or nothing. The jury thought she was guilty of something, but they didn't feel it was murder, that Casey didn't intend to kill her baby. So with nothing else they chose to acquit her.
