in one of the first stories about him, i thought there was some back story of him being a bully and terrorizing people in his neighbourhood or certain people and they were scared. he was a dog catcher and was very odd. he had complaints against him but they couldn't do anything.

BTK fucked up a lot of lives with his crimes - one of the surviving Otero kids was messed up for life, while the cops destroyed Wegerle's husband's life because they were certain that he killed her...which no doubt fucked with their son's head as well...and I can't even imagine what the Viande kids went through after watching their mom get strangled just feet away from them in the next room, or the guilt Kevin Bright had to deal with... Yep, Rader was a real peice of work... |

Nah, he wasn't homosexual, more totally sexually confused...he kept refering to little Josie Otero (his primary target in the Otero murders) as a woman (a common thread amongst both pedophiles and sexual sadists with inconsistant targets), and he never had sex with any of the victims, just jerked off on their bodies after the kills...throw in his excessive bondage fetish and normal sex life with his wife, and you have someone who really didn't know what he was sexually, and thus could find no good outlet for it, resorting instead to extreme sexual sadism...really, Rader had no sexual interest in the males that got caught up in the murders (actually the chicken-shit was afraid of them)

You're absolutely right. He terrorized different women in the neighborhood. He was obsessed with one lady, and she wasn't interested in him. He went absolutely ballistic when she brought a man home with her one time. The next day while she was at work, DR went into her backyard, let her dog loose, and then shot it, saying it had tried to attack him. He was truely a monster. I can't believe he was untouchable like he was. Nobody ever went against him when he did things to them. I can't believe nobody ever suspected him of the killings.  |

Last time I heard Steve Relford (shirley Vian-Relfords son )was in drug and alcohol rehab. He may still be in? Charlie Otero (the Oteros' son) has turned his life completely around. I think he's a victim's advocate ,and lectures at schools about keeping kids on the right path in life. Last time I heard Danny Otero (the other son) was diagnosed with throat cancer. I haven't heard any updates on him though.
