That what I was thinking , out of all the symbolic or bigger locations in America they attack would the Boston Marathon. But then again maybe they bombed the marathon because they knew that there wouldn't be a lot of security. This could be Home-grown or local groups grown rather than international.
For all we know, the perps planned to hit the NYC Marathon (huge crowds, international in scope just as the Boston marathon) which, you may recall, was canceled due to hurricane Sandy.

Anyway, those fucking terrorists are idiots. This wasn't even a good event to attack. Like a marathon? Really? It's not like it's patriotic...
Today (4/15) is actually Patriots' Day which isn't a well known holiday around the country, but most notably celebrated in Massachusetts & Maine. Most of us in New England are familiar with it.

Thanks for the photos and video.
I live pretty close to Boston, its a big city but the marathon doesn't have the same sort of significance as other targets, and it seemed kind of amateurish. I think its more likely this was a small group of people than a terrorist cell.
