Actually, when in the er this is the fastest way to reach the heart, they then use spreaders to separate the ribs. My question is why does it look like they shoved him into the bathroom to take the picture. If you look by his head, he doesn't look like he is in the morgue or the er. |

Sorry friend but your the dumbass. Heart massage is performed via the side thru the ribs and with a spreader, this proceedure is done in the ER when time is at the essence. Also, if the gash was made by the little brother running him over there would be bruising like on the right shoulder and neck area. |

The condition of the body in the morgue is easily explainable. The bruising appearance to the side of the face and the shoulder is from a compression injury; likely when his brother ran over him when fleeing. The gaping wound in the chest is from an emergency thoracotomy - a surgeon in the ER likely cracking his chest open when he was in cardiac arrest. It's a last ditch attempt to repair injuries to critical vessels like the aorta or to the heart itself. My guess is that they did most of this for "show" in order to document that they did everything possible to save his life. The docs working up this patient would not want to be later accused of letting the guy die on purpose.
