Re: Boeing 737 HELIOS Crash Scene in Greece
we found out a few days after the flight crashed that it never should have happened. That plane was needing some basic routine maintenance that it never got and I forget the details but basically we lost 2 family members bc someone at Helios was a fucking dipshit lazy bastard.

Re: Boeing 737 HELIOS Crash Scene in Greece
I'm sorry for your loss. From what I understand it during maintenance one of the personnel didn't switch the oxygen from manual back to auto. The pilots didn't do any of their 3 check lists they are required to do so no one noticed that oxygen was not being maintained, and everyone including the pilots passed out from lack of oxygen resulting in the crash.

Re: Boeing 737 HELIOS Crash Scene in Greece
I saw somewhere that the person the airforce pilots saw enter the cockpit was a member of the cabin crew who could fly small aircraft but he sadly passed out before he could land the plane. What a hero.
