Oh man!!!! I remember checking out a picture book about the Franklin Expedition when i was IN 4TH GRADE!!!! They had all the pics (there is a few you're missing, btw) and it traumatized me and haunted me thoughts at night for a long time. Just look at how creepy they look! Of course, now I find it just simply fascinating. |

I cannot believe how preserved the eyes are!! Since someone explained why the lips look so funny, can anyone explain how the eyes have so far managed to stay intact? That seems crazy they haven't dwindled more. |

Probably skin shrinkage (same with the myth people's nail and hair grows after death) Or something to do with the cold. But I doubt it since frozen water expands which makes it probable they thawed a little at one point. |
