Maybe a repost, but its a story that deserves resurrection for new generations. Actor Bob Crane played Hogan in the 1966-1971 sitcom "Hogan's Heroes", a comedy set in a Nazi POW camp. Crane married the cute blonde Sigrid Valdis who played the character Hilda, camp Commandant Klink's secretary. But Hilda wasn't enough for Hogan. Bob spent his post Hogan's Heroes days in strip clubs, finding women to have sex with and filming his sexploits on one of the first video recorders in private hands. Because of his fame, sexual conquests were plentiful and Bob would unashamedly show pictures and videos of himself having sex to family members and anyone who visited his house. Then, in 1978, someone bludgeoned Bob to death in his apartment with a camera tripod and tied a video cord around his neck. Suspicion fell on his friend and partner in sexcapades, a video equipment salesman named John Carpenter who left town the morning of Bob's death. Others thought it was a mafioso lover of one of his conquests or a disgruntled woman. Whoever did it left a bloody mess of Bob's head. In later years, Crane's son Scotty Crane ran a pay for view website, with porn pictures and vids of his dad in action, but the site seems to have been removed (please post a link if anyone knows its new location). This is an interesting post. I read a lot about Bob Crane's murder, and, yes, I believe his best friend, John Carpenter, had something to do with it. I've never heard anything about Mr. Crane's ... size. That's news to me.  |
