Bob Crane, Hogan Hero's Actor Death Pictures
Actor Bob Crane, best known for his starring role as Colonel Robert E. Hogan in the popular television sitcom "Hogan's Heroes," was found dead on June 29, 1978, in his apartment in Scottsdale, Arizona, under mysterious circumstances. Crane was 49 years old at the time of his death, which was ruled as a homicide. Crane's body was discovered by a friend, who immediately notified the authorities. The initial investigation revealed that he had been bludgeoned to death while asleep. The murder weapon, believed to be a camera tripod, was never found. There were no signs of forced entry, suggesting that Crane likely knew his assailant. The Scottsdale Police Department conducted an extensive investigation, but the case quickly grew cold due to a lack of concrete evidence and viable suspects. At the time of his death, Crane's career had seen a downturn after the end of "Hogan's Heroes" in 1971. He had been working in dinner theater productions and had a show scheduled in Scottsdale. Crane's personal life had come under scrutiny in the years leading up to his death, particularly his involvement in the Los Angeles swinger scene and his interest in amateur pornography, which became public knowledge during the investigation. In 1992, Crane's case was reopened, leading to the arrest of John Henry Carpenter, a video equipment salesperson and a close friend of Crane. Carpenter had been under suspicion since the initial investigation due to his close association with Crane and evidence suggesting he was one of the last people to see the actor alive. However, the trial in 1994 resulted in Carpenter's acquittal, primarily due to the lack of physical evidence linking him to the crime. Bob Crane's murder remains officially unsolved

Re: Bob Crane, Hogan Hero's Actor Death Pictures
On a late night in 1978, Crane allegedly called Carpenter to tell him that their friendship was over. The following day, Crane was discovered bludgeoned to death with a weapon that was never found (but was believed to be a camera tripod) at the Winfield Place Apartments in Scottsdale, Arizona. In the book The Murder of Bob Crane, it notes that investigators found semen on Crane's dead body and they assume the murderer may have ejaculated on him after killing him (p. 81). Crane had been appearing in Scottsdale in a production of a play titled Beginner's Luck at the Windmill Dinner Theatre, now known as Buzz, located at the southeast corner of Shea Blvd and Scottsdale Rd. thank you wikipedia..... |
