i see something worth adding; the judge leonid akubzhanov was fiercely critical of the police, saying "if they had done their job in 1978 after the first killing, 51 lives could have been saved. Or if they had not released him after questioning in 1984, atleast 20 people would have not died." judge akubzhanov described chikatilo as an 'animal' adding 'he enjoyed the feeeling of total control over his victims. he deliverately prolonged their suffering with terrible cruelty so he could get as much pleasure as possible.. his wife Fayina paid one last vicit to her husband in jail. reffering to sexually failing in their marriage, he said to her "if only i had followed your advice and got treatment.' |
