I..... cant imagine what those final moments must have been like. Is it too much to hope they had a quick heart attack or lost consciousness on the way down?

There were 'radio' towers or such on the roof of at least one of those buildings. I've always wondered if (were I in that situation), upon nixing the stairs down as an option, I could've made it to the roof and at least partially scaled one of those to 'ride' the tower down: if you watch video of the collapse(s), those are naturally the last thing to reach the ground. Might not have survived anyway, and it's likely they were pretty solidly locked access-wise, too. Of course that's unlikely to have occurred to me in the moment: as noted elsewhere, there wasn't a whole lot of URGENCY in evacuation advisories until it was kinda late in the game already, so a lot of people ended up having to just sit tight were they were until the end (with no option to go anywhere else, and presuming they weren't forced into jumping by encroaching fire), living on hope of rescue.  |

And now NYC might elect a Democrat Islamic mayor who hates Jews and wants to raise taxes on white people essentially acting on the Jizya, while rallying for a global intifada. What the hell happened to NYC? How quickly New Yorkers have forgotten 9/11 and now coddle terrorists. Sick sad world.  |
