I find it abhorrent they didn't get a rescue copter to fly up there and install a zip line from where all those people were, down to an adjacent building. They could have taken their shirts off and used them to slide down to a neighboring building, or they could have flown close and stayed idol away from the building and put some kind of transfer method from the building to the chopper, even if just for a few minutes to save a couple poor souls. That guy was probably hanging on for so long believing help was coming and it never did.

You have to remember though, we weren't prepared for this at all. I remember sitting at home watching and not realizing until the second plane hit that it was something fucky. People in the second tower were told to keep work as usual because it was reported as an accident. I do remember watching the news copters overheard thinking - "Throw them a fucking line or something!" Such an awful fucking day.

Reading about it, they *did* try to do a rooftop rescue, but the smoke was just too thick.
And how incredibly impractical is a zipline? Seriously?
