*best Harry Truman impression* I will not, nor shall I ever go looking for that ghastly Polaroid photo again. Google it. I will say that it was found among Elmer Wayne Henley's (Corll's co-hort in horror) possessions in an abandoned trailer or storage years later so it was almost certainly 100% authentic.

I did find it. Very sad. The whole case is intruguing. I bet there are a couple dozen more victims who will never be accounted for. |

I dunno, that Calico photo always seemed kinda staged, the kids look too calm for being supposedly kidnapped, bound and gagged. Plus, the photo being found in a supermarket parking lot randomly? Im not that old, but i remember a time when it seemed like every supermarket, drug store, and gas station offered photo developing. My guess is that it was probably a family joke photo. As far as the woman supposedly being thrown about? A couple of questions. First, who has a camera at ready just as someone is thrown across the room by supernatural forces? Second, doesnt it look like she just jumped off of that bed, considering the angle of her legs, and the bunched up blanket on the bed? |

 Awesome post! It's great to see some stories behind the photos. We usually don't get that "closure" with pics here; we see photos, but usually know little of what was going on while the photo was taken or who the victim was. This was fascinating, well organized, and had great links with more info. I hadn't seen most of these. Thanks for posting! I had seen the spontaneous combustion photo - great find! That happened in Drexel Hill, PA, about 5 minutes away from me in the next town over (Philadelphia suburbs area). Of course there are local rumors that the room still has a burnt smell that won't go away, and there are dark spots on the wall and floor that can't be scrubbed away or painted over - they just keep coming back. I've never been inside the house, but have driven by. It looks like a nice house from the outside. Was neat to see something local on my weekly DR visit :) |
