Why We Wear Gear
Guy riding an RC51 in shorts, no shirt and a full face helmet, but he did have his dirtbike gloves on. Crash at ~45s then he rides home and shows us his wounds around the 11 minute mark. Due to the large size and/or popularity of this video, this is only a preview, if you would like to watch the entire video, you can download the full version here (right click, save file as). |

Re: Why We Wear Gear
Have another look. He's coming into that turn pretty hot, but he could have made the turn easily if he was an experienced rider. Video description claims tire shine. Not sure if BS, but his head also never leaves from directly over the windscreen. I would say bad body positioning would be the cause of a problem. He should have had his body way off to the inside of the turn (right side in this case) to minimize the lean angle of the bike. If you look at the video, he's not off at all. In fact, he's sitting up on the bike, so it has to lean even farther than if he was centered or leaning with the turn. The result of bad body positioning means increased lean angle, and possibly the bike will not handle as well as it could. tl;dr inexperience tire shine gravel lot board shorts sneakers no shirt cold tires poor body position ........what could possibly go wrong? |
