A Race Fail/death Comp.

Most people don't call race car drivers athletes. Well this just goes to show what you need to prepare for.

Re: A Race Fail/death Comp.

How does preparing/surviving a crash make you an athlete? I don't understand the argument

Re: A Race Fail/death Comp.

At least this shows that a crash doesnt have to be spectacula in order to die, sometimes just a simple little bash into another vehicle or wall is all it takes

Because if your body isn't fit enough to withstand a crash you die. F1 drivers do triathlons and weight training to just drive the car. there is so much more to driving than people relize. I'm just saying a lot of athletes under play motorsports.

Re: A Race Fail/death Comp.

I remember an episode of Top Gear where Hammond was driving an F1, and within a few minutes he was sweating like a pig and could barely get out of the car after just a couple of laps... once he managed to not stall or spin the car. It's physically demanding.

Re: A Race Fail/death Comp.

[I]Your right Coppertop . All motor sport drivers/ motor bike racers need to be in great physical condition. Try doing a few lapses in a Go Kart will certainly sort out the non fit ones real quick.
All F1 Drivers are great athletes. Mark Webber [now retired] is always in top peak physical condition.
Bring on the 2014 season of racing.
Moto GP, F1, Supercars, Dakar Rally and the race that sorts the men from the boys Isle of Man TT
