I just put a bill on Belfort who opens as a 13-1 underdog. Yea I know I might as well just light that shit on fire but for the love of everything that is pure in this world I hope Belfort rips Jones's head off.

You could do a lot worse than Vitor. If Vitor goes straight at Bones he has more than a punchers chance, seriously. If he pussy foots and stays on the outside trying pick Bones apart or tries to wrestle him, then yeah, you should've you just wiped with that bill and called it a day. But fuck that, I like your style, you ain't getting 13 - 1 very often.

Serious question, who has the Jesus in their corner for this fight?

I would say it wont be the guy who bragged about being a grass/snicth "let there be no hope for informers" then crashed his $200,000 bentley drunk with a women who was not the unmarried mother of his kids

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread

"For me, it's a two part question for me. For one, you want to always keep it right for the fighters. It's great for the fighters to have the right to choose a fight. That is one of the liberties we do have, the option to say yes or no to a fight. But then on the other hand, you have a tremendous responsibility as the champion. You are the champion of the UFC. Not only that, you became champion of the UFC through circumstances like this. You had the opportunity to fight for someone that was injured. He stepped into a fight, after I got hurt, so he stepped in for me to fight Shogun. So, he was rewarded by the very process of somebody stepping in to take a fight. So, he owed it to the UFC to take the fight. Not only that, he owed it to all the other fighters on this card who are going to be missing paydays because of that. And lets not talk about how the UFC has done so much to make him the face of the UFC. They sponsored him. Everything he's gotten is because of the UFC, the whole Nike endorsement and everything else like that, has all been because of the UFC. When he got in trouble a few months back, it was the UFC who stood behind him and kind of made it go away relatively quickly. So, for him to turn his back on the UFC is very hard to believe, for one, but it's just disappointing. I'm sure one day, when he has the time to understand the ramifications of his decision, he's is gonna think, 'Wow. What did I really do?'"

Rashad keeping it real. Jones on the other hand...

Yeah Gutts, ur always buying videos, if can find it at a decent price pick up TUF season 5. Season 1 and 5 are the two best by far imho. Season 5 had Jens Pulver and BJ Penn as coaches, they were pretty funny and had some really good fighters/fights. Nick Diaz, Gray Maynard, Joe Lauzon, Matt Wiemann, those are the guys that i can think off the top of my head that are still relevant. Not sure if it includes Penn/Pulver fight but it was a very good season.

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread

You guys see this?

ONE FC eliminates 'open-attack' rule, adopts full PRIDE rules for soccer kicks

ONE Fighting Championship has eliminated its "open-attack" rule for soccer kicks, officials today announced.

The decision came a few days after the often-confusing rule resulted in an Andrei Arlovski vs. Tim Sylvia heavyweight contest being declared a no-contest this past weekend at ONE FC 5.

Instead, soccer kicks are now legal at all times, and the referee no longer has to distinguish when they're an option.

"Effective immediately, ONE FC has adopted full PRIDE rules for soccer kicks," the organization announced via Twitter.

The organization's next event, "ONE FC 6: Rise of the Kings," will be the first to feature the rules change. The event takes place Oct. 6 at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore, and it's again expected to be available as an online pay-per-view.

The open-attack rule allowed soccer kicks to the head of a downed opponent, but only after the referee prompted a fighter that it was OK to do so. That rule first created some brutal finishes (Zorobabel Moreira over Roger Huerta at ONE FC 4 and Phil Baroni over Rodrigo Ribeiro at ONE FC 5) and then a confusing one. This past Friday at ONE FC 5, Arlovski tagged fellow ex-UFC champ Sylvia with a pair of soccer kicks to force a stoppage, but the referee hadn't declared an open attack, and the bout ultimately was ruled a no-contest.

This latest rules change won't do anything to curb the sometimes-violent nature of the blows, but it should create less confusion on the fighters' part.
