Re: DR's Official MMA Thread

FUCK!!!!!! GSP out with a torn ACL. FUCK!!!!!! Diaz v Condit is gonna be an absolute banger, but the GSP v Diaz has got to happen. GSP and Diaz are the perfect contrast to each others fighting styles.
If Diaz keeps winning we will get too see it, although GSP will probably move up to 185 if Diaz still holds the belt because he is scared, homie.

just jokin'

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread

Russian boxer Roman Simakov has died in hospital without regaining consciousness after suffering heavy injuries in a bout against Sergey Kovalev on December 5.
The 27-year-old was defending his WBC Asian Boxing Council light heavyweight belt against former compatriot Kovalev, who now lives in the US, in a match held in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg,
Simakov suffered a knockdown in the sixth round, with the fight turning into a one-sided affair thereafter.
The bout was stopped one round later, with Kovalev being awarded a TKO victory and Simakov taken straight to hospital.
“The patient was delivered to our emergency room in a coma,” the hospital’s emergency department informed Lifesport.ru. “The patient was in such a serious condition that we didn’t even have time to do an MRI. An urgent craniotomy was performed, with a large bruise on the right of the skull removed.”
The doctors fought for the boxer’s life for three days, but he passed away on the night of December 8 without regaining consciousness.
The athlete will be buried in his home city of Kemerovo.
Roman Simakov has taken part in 22 professional bouts during his career, collecting 19 wins (9 KOs), two defeats and a draw.

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread

Just got back from the weightins. Can't wait for this scrap tomorrow. I'm calling it now. Machida gets choked in the first.

Didn't see this posted here but Miguel Torres was fired for a 'tweet' he made regarding a rape joke he quoted from TV...

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread

Frank Mir's sub over big Nog was impressive. That's the third time i've seen Mir break his opponent's arm.

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread

Not to belittle what happened but as nasty as that was it still wasn't as bad as what Aoki did to Hirota.

Big Nog was lucky it was the bone that broke and not his elbow being dislocated/broken and ligaments being shredded, that almost ended Hirota's career.

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread

And I was wrong about Jon Jones. That dude is a stone cold assassin, Machida fought a great fight for 7 and a minutes, then fucked up 1 time and got destroyed. I hope Rashad wins, he'll get fucked up too, but he should be first in line for the next ass whopping.

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread

Alistar Overeem just received a conditional license to fight from the NSAC if his tests come back clean that is. That would suck if he pisses hot.

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread

Machida won the first round (even though 2 judges saw it differently)

I think he got a bit too confident and after he got taken down panicked, got dropped and then choked out.

---

Hashad claims to have Bones' number, that is why I find this fight so interesting. If Rashad can even expose a weakness in Jones it should be interesting.
