FBI File on Michael Zaffarano

This New York FBI file concerns Michael Zaffarano, an alleged organized-crime figure associated in bureau reporting with the Bonanno factional split and later with a Brooklyn pornography operation. A January 1966 report records informant allegations that Zaffarano was among people suspected of involvement in the 1964 disappearance of Joseph Bonanno, while also noting his prior conviction for theft of American Express travelers checks. Records from 1971 include boat-registration material, surveillance memoranda, and informant reports concerning a Brooklyn operation involving hard-core pornography, stolen goods, and use of a public telephone at the Mayfair Restaurant. The file also contains later administrative material dated 1973, extensive deletion sheets, and duplicate-page notices.
