FBI File on Dwight Alan Armstrong
This FBI file concerns Dwight Alan Armstrong, a Wisconsin antiwar radical linked in bureau records to the 1970 Sterling Hall bombing at the University of Wisconsin and an alleged attempted bombing at Badger Army Ordnance Works. The Milwaukee office opened a Security Matter and anarchist-extremist investigation after a federal complaint and warrant issued in September 1970, and sought his placement on the Security Index because it considered him potentially violent. The released material includes a 1970 summary report, school and college record inquiries, biographical and physical-description material, fugitive-status references, and informant-contact summaries. Later 1971 through 1973 memoranda show Armstrong being maintained in the Milwaukee bombing-suspect program while a fugitive, including periodic verification forms and a photograph obtained from a Wisconsin bombing file. FBI file number: MI 100-17392 | Documents span: 1970-1973 | Released in 2 parts Names in this file: Dwight Alan Armstrong, Donald Karl Armstrong Subjects: Sterling Hall bombing, Wisconsin antiwar movement, anarchist extremism, bombing suspects, fugitive investigation
