The FBI's Miami Field Office opened a full investigation of David Huber in January 2021 after an anonymous peer-to-peer platform was linked to downloads of child pornography from IP addresses associated with his account. The released records include the case-opening communication, a Comcast subpoena response, IP-address lease history, and surveillance reports. Comcast identified Huber as the subscriber for the relevant dynamically assigned IP addresses and listed a Sunrise, Florida service address. FBI agents photographed the residence and a vehicle registered to Huber while preparing to seek and execute a search warrant.
