Woman Carried Bones Of Dead Baby Inside Her For 55 Years
Calcified Fetus, known as a “lithopedion” This highly unusual specimen remained in the abdomen of a woman for 55 years. During this time, the mother had five additional uncomplicated pregnancies, enjoying good health throughout. She knew she carried the “bones” of a dead baby. The specimen was obtained after death. I am more amazed it didn't cause any complications. Guess she figured if it wasn't bothering her it was meant to stay there? Pretty creepy if you ask me.

i watched a program on the learning channel about a woman with a similar thing. she didn't want hers taken out, but had to once her health started failing.

The stone baby grew in the abdominal cavity, probably from a ruptured ectopic pregnancy, so she was able to carry the rest of her children in the uterus. The baby probably died close to term.
