That's what Democrats did for a hobby back then because they didn't like the fact that Republicans had freed the slaves. The majority of Democrats were also and still are against civil rights. I think most of them were killed just for being black. If they really had done something worthy of death then why not have a real trial and let the facts come out. Then let the law provide the sentence. BTW, being proud we have a black president is also a form of racism. Since Obama is more white than black should I be proud he is white? If white people were proud to have Bush for president based on his race wouldn't that be racism?
