Some of the living look scarier than the dead.

Re: Vintage Death Photos 1860-1910

If it could be done tastefully, I can't say I'd rule it out, but, some of those babies look so sickly, (like the little girl with her legs dangling at the end of the table or whatever she is on.

I'd rather remember them when they were healthy, assuming they were, if only for a few months, then see them posed like dolls, but, some are beautiful.

The first one and the little boy on the pony are way too creepy for me.
At my 7yr. olds funeral, I had picture's taken by my Brother-in-law, But everytime I asked my Sister for them she always made up an excuse and finally Mom told me that she did NOT want to give them to me because T.J. looked nothing like himself and too sick and she thought it would be to much for me to handle. I understood her concern, but I still wish to this day that I had gotten the chance to decide for myself.

Re: Vintage Death Photos 1860-1910

If you want to see them, I think you should. As the mother, you should be able to call the coroner and see the pictures. You may have to pay a charge and sign a Release for copies of the photos though.

If, in your heart, you really want to see him, I think you should. Apparently, he's on your mind. Just realize, you may get upset since he was your son. That is to be expected. I can't feel what you feel losing a child, let alone two boys, but, you'll decide what is right for you <3 You're a strong lady!

As I told you privately, I am so sorry for your losses. E-mail me any time. I'm usually up late.

I went to id the first of my brothers who died in a fire to keep my mother and brother, who just died, from seeing him because I wasn't really close with the first brother and I wasn't sure my mother and other brother would want to see him. (Mom is still alive.)

He didn't look as bad as I expected, a bit bloated and hair singed, but, he died from asphyxiation, not the actual light burning he had. He was standing over the bathroom sink and his dog was right outside the bathroom door with her paws over her face :( She was cremated, too, so her body was frozen when we picked her up. He did call my brother, who just died, but, it only rang once, then the neighbors started calling so I drove over with the brother. We knew there was a fire.

They could not get a breathing tube inside of his throat with all of the soot. My guess is he woke up dazed, made it to the bathroom and either tried to get water or get to the window over the tub and didn't make it, but, that seems like the most likely series of events to me.

Very creepy picture they showed me. I couldn't tell if he eyes were open or his lids were burned off. They couldn't determine the color, but, I knew his eyes were blue.
