Re: Vietnamese Soldier Being Tortured By American Troop
Gut that little fuck....if you look by the waist of the little fecker there is what looks like a book, I bet that is a document/orders holder so could be either a messenger or a commander...they didn't always wear rank in fact they made a point of looking nothing like a commander that way if captured the could claim to be a farmer or basic grunt...and I doubt he talked, they seldom did. They found that treating them well for an extended period of time actually worked better.(in some cases)

Re: Vietnamese Soldier Being Tortured By American Troop
Honestly, with the horrific shit that went down in Vietnam I don't even care if it was one of our troops doing that. The Viet Cong were the lowest of the low. Spend some time talking with 'Nam war vets, or any war vets. The things they saw and put up with...you better bet your asses they let out their anger. If I was in a war, even the people on this site would be appalled with what I would do to the enemy.

Re: Vietnamese Soldier Being Tortured By American Troop
According to several war stories, I have learned that Torturing and executions of the enemy by North Vietnamese or the South Vietnamese (allied with the US) was wide spread. The Torture included the brutal slicing open the enemy with a knife in the right abdomen below the rip cage. The reason was to obtain the Gall-Bladder which is located right below the liver. It was common to eat the fresh gall-bladder or drink the biliary fluids of the enemy... Supposingly that gave them strength and promised good health. There are personal war stories and photos that verified this ritual/torture to have happened many times.... If I find photos I will post them. |

In the Photo posted by the OP there is a South Vietnamese Soldier. The Prisoner/Victim is assumably a captured Viet Cong (North Vietnamese)

Re: Vietnamese Soldier Being Tortured By American Troop
After some research, I have read, that Gall-Bladders of Bears are in high demand in todays Vietnam along with other Eastern Asian Countries. Here is a brief report from the internet. The demand for the different parts of a bear, including its gall bladder, is increasing day by day and this is putting this creature into the brink of extinction. The value of the various parts of the bear have made it more valuable dead than alive, and positive steps should be taken to ensure that this stops before the bear becomes extinct. The most demand for the various bear products comes from Asia, where people in China and Korea etc, eat the different parts of the bear for different purposes. The gall bladder of a bear is used for making medicines, which are said to cure different illnesses including fever, liver diseases, convulsions, diabetes and heart diseases. Due to these reasons, the gall bladder of an average bear can command as much as $3,400 in Asia. |

Re: Vietnamese Soldier Being Tortured By American Troop
USA had a battalion that enjoyed torturing , raping and killing villagers as well as enemy. One US helicopter group rescued a village from them theirs a documentary about it on youtube. Look it up but it is hard to tell from this pic, the south Vietnamese were on the side of the USA and were clothed and armed by the USA.
