Re: Thelma Todd - Was It Lucky Luciano?
Why would Luciano need/want to kill her??? The article really gives no explanation other than he was "Downright Evil", which to me stinks of self-righteous judgement. If you look at the bio of Charles Luciano, compared to other mobsters of his day, he was hardly 'downright evil', and probably a little too cool-headed to kill her in such a way, if so, she probably wouldn't have been found. I'm not saying it isn't possible, but there is/was a code among 'those types' of criminals concerning the treatment of women, despite how brutal they can be to their competitors. Now, of course her family would suspect him, he was a gangster, but,,,,,real gangsters don't kill their women, and Lucky Luciano was as real and classy a gangster as there ever could be....I'd be more likely to suspect some other jealous lump with less status; Someone like Lucky wouldn't have those types of jealousy issues. Nonetheless, she was a beautiful starlet; you should check out a movie called Hollywood Scandals and Tragedies, they all pretty much died f'ed up deaths back then! |
