I took a class on mummification and she was used as the prime example of largely natural mummification due to the high amount of fat content that is present in children that then turns into adipocere. You can see a similar effect on obese people adults, too.

This room is very dusty, so obvi that explains my eyes getting misty. For real, though, this is a great post. It humanizes history, in a sense. Her hair...it looks as shiny as ever. That and her eyelashes, seeing them in such good condition (of course, along with her tissues) is a bit awe-inspiring. I feel nostalgic for a time I wasn't even alive in.
