my dad told bout this and a viking thing similar,he said that they wud tap a nail into a tree and cut their gut open tie some to the nail and walk round the tree untill all their guts came out

They must have went the modern way with the gun, traditionally they had a second that would behead them after they sliced so they wouldn't shame themselves with screaming.

Hara Kiri...stab the stomach and slide the blade side to side. Typically they would slice the head off as the person did this so they didnt suffer as much, but I guess since guns were invented they shot them...I actually have a handmade Hara Kiri sword from Japan...they are mad sharp and mine was only folded half of what they were usually folded. Great Pics though...havent seen too many ritual suicides like this  |
