One good thing is that the first person to perform lobotomies, who inspired Freeman in fact, was shot by his first patient and confined to a wheelchair. He was a Portuguese neurologist called Egas Moniz. Bastard won the Nobel Prize for it  |

In 2002 friends and I went to the old Lakin home in Mason West Virginia. Walter freeman is said to have performed that procedure there a lot. Was a neat place and we had the feeling we were not alone. Bummer they demolished it :(
