Okay, this is my first post so bear with me if it's not totally awesome! (: I guess the story is John List murdered his whole family; mom, wife, daughter, and two sons. His mom smothered him as a child and he had no friends. He went into the army and then came home and enrolled in college for business. His daughter got picked up by police for walking the streets late at night and smoking. His wife was ill and stopped going to church. John was a very religious man so that made him irritated. Thinking his family is going to hell, he killed all of them. He sent notes to his work saying he was going on vaca and told the milkman they were moving and sent out all the letters to give him clearance. He walked in the front door and saw his wife in the kitchen making something to eat and he shot her right in the head. He placed four sleeping bags in their ballroom and laid her on the top one. He then walked upstairs to his mom's apartment and didn't knock and shot her above the left eye. He stored her body in a storage closet. Waiting for the kids to get out of school, he killed time by washing up. He sent out letters to the school saying they were going on vacation. Patty (his daughter) called home saying she was sick. Irritated, he went and got her and rushed in the front door, grabbed his pistol, and shot her as soon as she walked in the house. He placed her on a sleeping bag as well. John's youngest son, John Jr., was out of school and John went to pick him up. Same as Patty, he rushed inside and hid with his gun and shot John Jr. before he could even pull his coat off. Fred (oldest son) was expected home later after soccer practice. He came home a little early and John was caught off-guard. Fred came in the back door where he saw his dad with his gun in his hand. Fred grabbed his dad's hand and they wrestled, firing while fighting. He shot Fred many times but he wasn't dead. He shot him while he was on his stomach in the back and the back of the neck. He was still alive and so John loaded bullets into him, really wanting him to die. Fred tried crawling away and was on his back. John shot him right in the eye, and he was still alive. John loaded the rest of the bullets into Fred, overkilling him, and finally he was dead. He dragged both of his son's bodies onto the remaining sleeping bags. Before leaving, he prayed with all of them laying there. He then make dinner, then went to bed and woke up and left. Ironically, a neighbor saw all of the lights on and finally called police after a while of suspicion. Also, Patty's chorus teacher was worried because Patty told him that if he was told they were going on vaca it meant her dad was going to kill her. He didn't believe it at first and so when she didn't show up for practice one night, which was unlikely of her to do, he drove to her house and saw all the lights on, so figured everything was alright. Finally, he called the cops as well, concerned. They were already on their way there. When police got there, all the lights in the house were on and creepy organ music played over the loudspeakers. Hope you enjoy!! |
