Incendiary Bomb Victim (1957)
Burnt body of a guerilla fighter. There was a huge bounty for his arrest, guess he had done a lot of damage. He and four others had reinforced a hole at the side of a mountain, waiting to ambush passing-by British forces. They were discovered by a squad and they were ordered to surrender. He killed the squad leader, sent his co-fighters out of the hideout and stayed inside. The squad was trying to negotiate with and/or kill him for 8 hours. They tried to take him out with a grenade but he took the blast like a boss and kept shooting. Finally the Brits got bored, poured a shitload of gasoline in the hideout and threw three incendiary bombs inside. Last words (crude translation): "The seed we have sown has sprouted. The flame is lit and has flared in everybodys' hearts. Nothing can put it out anymore. Freedom will rise and our death will intensify this feeling even more". Sorry about the crappy quality of the pictures, it's the best I could find. |
