Assuming you're addressing me? This is not cruelty. I used to live on a farm and it's also common practice to relieve newborn lambs of fluid in their airways so that they begin to breathe. Some things appear cruel but aren't, I assure you  |

Wow. It DOES look cruel! If I saw someone doing that I'd have to say something to them. But people here are saying they've used the method to save animals!!!   |

My friend who was a vet nurse had to do a similar thing with newborn puppies at times.. They wouldn't have survived without the intervention!

I rented a movie awhile back, that began with the birth of a stillborn calf. The farmer picked it up and swung it around by its back legs. I was shocked and horrified. Immediately had to stop the movie. Was too offended to watch the rest... Thought it was cruelty. Long time later, I learned that this is actually a life saving method... . Wow.. haven't heard or seen it used on a baby tho.
