Excellent article and interesting read

A tormented woman with a chip on her shoulder is the ideal candidate as a war 'investigator'. Nasty demise

Thanks! Glad you bumped this. I just happened to find three more photos of her, one antemortem, one perimortem, and one postmortem! These images were courtesy of mul. I wonder how many more of her are out there.

OP updated with 3 new images.

Re: Herta Kasparova

She got caught up in some Nasty Business.

I don't know whether to feel sorry for her or not. I'm sure the Germans were pressing her just as hard.

Re: Herta Kasparova

For the exact: This method of hanging was inherited by Czechoslovakian justice from the times of Austrian - Hungarian monarchy. Except the time of WW2 it was the only way to execute human till 1953. It wasn´t really pole hanging but exactly Plank hanging when was used a thin plank about 3 meters long, which was put into a ground. There was two pulleys in the plank. One of them was situated at he top and the other in the hole in the plank a bit from the ground. a bit under the upper pulley was mounted a hook where a noose was fixed. The condemned was led to the plank and there was put a strap around chest, from this strap went a rope through the upper pulley. Around the ankles was put other rope and the opposite end was put through the lower pulley. Afterwards the executioner went upstairs and his helpers lifted the condemned up by pulling by the rope through the upper pulley. As soon as the condemned was lifted up, the executioner put the noose around neck and the helpers released the rope and the body was fallen down and stood hangnig in noose. In this moment the helpers took the rope which went through the lower pulley and pulled it strongly to reduce a suffering of the condemned. Sometimes a executioner broke a neck by his hands, but it wasn´t usual. Mostly the death came by suffocation, but there was used a thin rope with simple slip knot, so it shut not only a throat but also arteriae carotis and unscousciouness came quickly although the heart beated (as was documented) 15 minutes.

Re: Herta Kasparova

It looks like her hands were tied in front and a rope was place around her feet and she was pulled up by means of a sling that is around her chest. As she dropped the hangman twisted her head to break her neck which finished her off.
