Re: Herta Kasparova

After watching the video, seems a bit labor-intensive, to me.

Re: Herta Kasparova

Bet she was also tortured by the nice large-nosed justiciars like many other alleged Nazi war criminals.

He was lifted up by the harness, noosed, then dropped as one executioner forced his head back and the other pulled the ropes on his legs. Looks quite brutal, but he doesn't move at all. Presumably his neck was broken more or less instantly.
Ahh, that is Piano Sonata No. 15 (in D Major) Beethoven.

(What a strange way to execute someone. Quick though.)

Re: Herta Kasparova

Oops--my bad on the music ID.

The whole process does seem rather labor-intensive, I agree. I would think gravity would simplify matters just fine.

There is a series of photos some of you have probably seen (it may be on here) which show the execution of a woman and two men by pole hanging. In that case, they appear to have been simply stood on various pieces of furniture (in one case, a table), which was then pushed out from under them. They appear to have had white hoods placed over their heads after they were dead. It's hard to tell any further details from a series of stills, but it certainly appears as if pole hanging was used in more than one way.

Re: Herta Kasparova

You can also tell which of her legs limped, as the calf muscle is thicker on one that the other, noticeably.
