Lindemann, thank you for adding these incredible photos to this thread I started a few years back The pictures of the large group of picture who were "baked" inside that room are particularly astonishing. There must have been thousands of scenes like this all over Hamburg and Dresden during these dark days.

Also Dr. Paul Joseph Goebbels was pushing for chemical warfare big time. He actually brought this to Hitler many times during the the final years of WW2. From my studies it seems that the little propaganda minister wanted chemical warfare even more than Hitler.

From what I have read, the Germans had vast stockpiles of what were advanced chemical weapons for the time, including some forms of nerve agents that are still seen today in an even more 'advanced' form. I am still surprised that there wasn't a substantial chemical weapon exchange. Especially at the end of the was when all was know to be lost...  |
