Hamburg PHOSPHOROUS Burn Victims
'Men, women and children too, ran hysterically, falling and stumbling, getting up, tripping and falling again, rolling over and over. Most of them managed to regain their feet and made it to the water. But many of them never made it and were left behind, their feet drumming in blinding pain on the overheated pavements amidst the rubble, until there came one last convulsing shudder from the smoking "thing" on the ground, and then no further movement.' Martin Caidin, The Night Hamburg Died. 'Phosphorous burns were not infrequent.' U.S. Strategic Bombing Survey. 'Phosphorous was used "because of its demonstrated ability to depress the morale of the Germans."' Official British source. · |

Re: Hamburg PHOSPHOROUS Burn Victims
Unfortunately in war it's a case of do it to them before they caan do it to you. One of the rather questionable actions of the Nuremberg Tribunal was that the defendants were not allowed to use the Tu Cocque (So did you) line of defense....would've brought up too much dirty laundry for the Allies (Katyn, Dresden, the officer massacre at Dachau, the A-bombs)

A roasted child of Hamburg. Looks perhaps like the remains of a young girl with burned remains of a doll beside the bucket.

Re: Hamburg PHOSPHOROUS Burn Victims
Another Hamburg firestorm visited. Literally roasted by heat, not flames.

Re: Hamburg PHOSPHOROUS Burn Victims
Well, nobody can rightly claim, that they didnt deserve it. There were very few innocent German civilians. Just ask eastern Europeans.
