Re: Frontal Lobotomy
I was gonna bring up Kennedy. She might have had some slight mental/developmental problems, but back then, in any case, Heaven forbid a member of the illustrious Kennedy clan should ever behave like anything less than royalty. It makes you wonder what the person would have become, because....you basically destroy the person with a frontal lobotomy, afterwards they are basically nothing but a shell. Living, but not truly "alive".

Re: Frontal Lobotomy
I would love to understand why big Joe Kennedy had his daughter Roses lobotomy done so quick and kept it so secret. He never told his own wife! Poor girl.

Re: Frontal Lobotomy
The procedure was developed here in WV at the hospital in Weston. The hospital is open now as a tourist attraction. A very interesting place. They offer tours now to keep it maintained. http://trans-alleghenylunaticasylum.com/ In a building in the rear is where they performed the lobotomies. It's in disrepair now but they still allow you to go into the room where they were performed. It's an interesting experience. I'll be going back in June for a night tour. |
