My guess without seeing is that Yes... the hair was from the opening of the Skull, but more precisely, from the closing of the incision after the embalming. The longer hair tends to very easily tangle, knot, and twist into the sutures while the mortician is fixing the head. To make things even more difficult is the fact of the incision being in such a hard to reach spot. Generally a coworker can suture a full Y incision and have time left over while I do the less friendly Occipital or Ear to Ear incision. Balls of hair can and do form during this but helps to cover up the suture.... perhaps you snagged something as such. Hope that helped |
