Been reading a lot about autopsy and what they do to the head. At my mother's funeral back in 2005, I was up at her casket by myself, so I could show more privately express some grief. I don't think anyone else saw this but I put my hand on top of her head and gave her a kiss and when I pulled my hand away a large portion of her hair came with it and I quickly balled it up and hid it on my person. For the longest time I thought it might have been because decomp (my stepdad let her lay a while before somebody else called the squad, I wasn't there) or just her hair type(we have a lot of hair and it's wavy/curly) but now I wonder if it was from where they opened her skull. She died unexpectedly (OD) so they did a full autopsy. Finding answers to things I haven't been able to ask is what brings me here. My mother seemed to love talking about this stuff but other family members, not so much. |
