Well you have to recall that at that time sex was ONLY for procreation and to "spill your seed" was a sin and wasted "precious" man-stuff, which was thought to hold the essence of life. Doctors didn't understand that we make more! They all thought we had a finite amount. Wet dreams were also the origin for the Succubus and Incubus myths. In my parent's generation they were told that if they "touched" themselves they'd go crazy. Trouble was, some of them went crazy from being too afraid to "scratch". LOL   |
