My middle brother had it. They did eye surgery when he was about 18 months old. I couldn't sleep because the white of his eye was red and I thought he was bleeding. I think I was in second grade at the time. His eye was fixed, too. |

Re: Black & White Picture of a Girl With Strabismus
Ugh. I have this but my eye goes out the other way ^_> Hate it SO much. I'm now almost 40 so I can't get surgery to correct it sadly. They NEVER did tests on me, except to give me glasses 2 years ago with a normal every day eye test, yet many drs told me if they did the surgery, there is a huge chance I'd totally lose my eyesight pr it'd be so blurry I'd not be able to see right ever again. I have 20/20 in my dumb eye (the one I do not use) and 20/30 in the dominant eye. What pisses me off is that I can't see 3d movies cuz of it. :C oh and I think it makes me look ugly and I have to turn my head slightly for every pic so no one can notice it. Even when I talk with people, I NEVER look at them head on. People make fun of you for having derp eyes. |

Have you tried vision therapy? I have a friend who had strabismus all her life and decided to take vision therapy. They consist of excersizes you do with the use of a special computer program. Anyway, now she can control her eyes and it's made a big difference for her. |
